After a trek or a stay in Morocco, here is my selection remains and shopping in Marrakech first in the medina.

Dining and shopping in Marrakech, it's at Max and Jan at 14 Amsefah Street Sidi Abdelaziz. On the ground floor, a concept store from the Swiss-Belgian designer duo, Max and Jan. In addition to their original creations, always mixing bohemian fabrics and patterns with fashion references worthy of Milan or Paris, there are collections of jewelry and accessories, decorative objects or even ready-to-wear models from young Moroccan designers. Another restaurant only open during lunch break and until 18 H, this is the “Some” villa. A great discovery this year villa 30, transformed into a concept store by two talented women, Mathilde and Noémie. The address ? A stone's throw away, of the Eden square, in a small street where a few rare villas from the last century are resisting, au 76, bld El Mansour Eddahbi.
Enter the door of their Some Slow Concept, it’s agreeing to take the time…… First of all to hunt, to look up, to linger on each of the creations spread across 2 floors. Noémie, interior architect and designer who has been imagining ceramic creations for years, screen-printed furniture and bags. As for Mathilde, trained lawyer and lover of Marrakech, it’s reinterpreting, reinvent and recycle everyday objects like these grain measures transformed into boxes, these tin cans that have become pedestal tables or plant pots…….Some is also a small bookstore. There you can find the pretty publications of Editions Sarrazine et Co.
Some also offers a delicatessen with a selection of local products. But also carpets, pillows, outdoor mats. For carpets, it is mainly with the Association “Le Savoir au village” that the two young women work. This association brings together four villages around a hundred kilometers from Marrakech and does everything possible to educate, literacy and maintaining women’s entrepreneurship.
My favorite at Some, we choose the shape of our basket, all round, rather triangular, rectangular or square and color, the length of the handle in leather or embroidered in palm fiber. And we leave with our personalized basket !
After discovering the store, access by a staircase at the rear of the villa where it is on one level, the restaurant terrace with in the center, a magnificent lemon tree. Delicious Moroccan dishes. Excellent herbal teas and fruit juices !
Restaurants and shopping in Marrakech, it’s also where you can taste Moroccan pastries. I recommend the “Pâtisserie des Princes”, a real institution which sits right in the middle of the bustling Rue des Princes leading directly to the famous Place Jemaa el Fnaa ! You will find gazelle horns there but also different oriental pastries : chebakias, space, Baklava, makrout with orange blossom and anise scents. It’s the perfect place to stock up on sweets to bring back in your luggage. !
La Pâtisserie des Princes also offers, ice creams with flavors each more evocative than the other, to eat in or take away.
As for cosmetic products with argan oil, for yourself or to offer, I get my supplies at the Naturom store 213 riad Zitoun in the medina. All products are plant-based, clay, vegetable oils and without animal testing. The well-being brand offers a colorful collection of bath salts, scrubs, creams, soaps……Essential oils and also horsehair gloves and organic cotton foutahs for the hammam. The products are of excellent quality and at affordable prices.
The different artisanal products such as jewelry, leather goods, the rugs, marquetry, pottery can be discovered at the Artisanal Center located on avenue Mohamed V and opposite the Arsat Moulay Abdeslam Park. This complex brings together different trades from all over the country and allows you to discover all the richness of Moroccan craftsmanship..
And if you have time left, visit the unmissable Jardin Majorelle where there is an excellent restaurant and also a shop !
